Fairgrounds 03/20/1892 This room was the largest discovered in Wind Cave until the Club Room was found in the 1960's. It was called the Fairgrounds because every feature of the cave could be found there. Also reported that the name came after John Stabler had a display of specimens at the State Fair and he led Governor Lee through this area. Alvin, Elmer and J.D. McDonald and George Stabler.
Fairy Palace 05/1/1982 This area exhibits a nice display of flowstone, stalactites and stalagmites. Surveyed by Jim Chisholm, Hal Johnson and Heide McClire.

Faith, Hope & Charity 12/26/1983 These are the names of the 3 columns which give rise to the name Tri-Column Sandway. John Scheltens and Springhetti.
Fallen Flats 01/12/1891 This name derived from the large, flat breakdown on the floor of this room. Also called the Assembly Room or G.A.R. Hall (Grand Army of the Republic Hall). Alvin and Elmer McDonald and Melvin Moore.
Fallen Giant 06/07/1976 This is a very, very large chunk of breakdown located at the base of the stairs leading to the Coliseum. Alvin McDonald referred to it as the Pebble. Surveyed by Leroy Simon, ? Knapp, ? Ward
Fallen Leaf Room 03/04/1979 In this room there is an abundance of calcite rafts on the walls and floors which look like fallen leaves. Carole Loskot, John Scheltens, Dave Springhetti and Mike Wiles.
False Alarm Freeway 08/?/1972 Mark Stock & Nelson Kuniansky
False Floor City 12/15/1984 There is a series of broken false floors in this area of the cave. Some of then drop down 30 feet or more. Warren Netherton and Jim Pisarowicz.
Fan Rock 1901 A huge piece of boxwork that resembles a fan. On the Candlelight Tour.

Fat Woman's Misery 1901 A crawl or squeeze where the Rescue Stairs are located on the Garden of Eden Tour.
Feather Bed Crawl 06/12/1987 Crawlway which is covered with very soft and powdery soil. Jim Nepstad, Jim Pisarowicz and Darren Ressler

54th Avenue 11/02/1990 The cave survey went over 54 miles in this passage. Jim Nepstad, Mary Laycock, Stan Allison, Sue McDondald, Karen Hirschy, & Jamie Wolfe.
57 Mile Hall 02/23/1991 The passage where the survey hit the 57-mile mark. Bob Kobza, Jim Nepstad, Warren Netherton, & Mike Paulick
Figure Eight Room 08/1/1971 The outline of this major intersection in Half-Mile Hall resembles a large "8", giving the room its name. Mapped by Andy Flurkey, Chris Hill and Bob Reinstatler.
Fireball Hall 04/22/1986 A passage named after the fireball candy that Jim Nepstad had just put into his mouth moments before the team crawled into this room. Greg and Jim Nepstad and Jim Pisarowicz.
Fish Bowl (Phish Bowl) 07/11/1992 A beautiful round room with red clay and bright white aragonite crystals-it looked lilke a beautiful crystal fish bowl to the explorers. Five Finger Fall 11/29/1986 While surveying over this 25-foot pit, Karen Rosga dropped one of her gloves. The pit was deep enough and overhung such that the party could not retrieve the glove. A later trip did descend the pit and map about a quarter of a mile of cave at the bottom of the drop. Surveyed by Dave Gerboth, Jim Pisarowicz and Karen Rosga.
Five Hundred Foot Pit 04/22/1986 At this 14-foot deep pit, the day's survey went over 500 feet in length. Greg and Jim Nepstad and Jim Pisarowicz.
Five Points 06/13/1891 Also known as the Eastern Star Room. Alvin McDonald
Flailing Feet Crawl 05/26/1991 A fifty-foot long crawl in which the explorers feet were seen flailing around. Paul Burger, Stan Allison, Dina Venezky, & Bob Younger
Flaming Pink Tights Pit 05/25/1987 A pit where the ledges along the sides of the passage are all sloping steeply down and there is a thin layer of mud on the ledges and footholds. Curt Broeker, Jim Pisarowicz, Darren Ressler and Karen Rosga.

Flower Shop 06/30/1976 Named for the large number of gypsum flowers. Surveyed by Phil Dodge, Bob Hirschy, ? Huber and Jim Palmer.
Flowers of the Night 04/22/1986 Small crawlway with nice anthrodites (literally stone flowers in Greek). Jim and Greg Nepstad and Jim Pisarowicz.
Flowfinger Falls 11/21/1985 An area with flowstone and soda straws which look like fingers hanging down from the ceiling. John Gookin, Jim Pisarowicz, Matt Soete and Geoff Williams.
Flowstone Dome, The 09/03/1991 A 20-foot high dome with lots of sodastraws, stalactites, draperies, flowstone and stalagmites. Jim Clark, Kirk Haley, & Veronica Stahl.
Flowstone Fantasy Freeway 05/13/2000 A three-foot high upper-level phreatic tube with a flowstone floor. Surveyed by John Scheltens, Ed LaRock, & Mike Behn.
Flying Zambino, The 06/12/1987 A 20-foot climb where the walls are very crumbly and threatened to turn the explorers into impromptu acrobats. The name "Zambino" came from the pencil that the explorers were using to take notes. On that pencil was the name "Ann Zambino". Jim Nepstad, Jim Pisarowicz and Darren Ressler.

Freshman Frostline 07/29/1977 A large quantity of aragonite ("frostwork") in found in this area that looks like a smaller version of the Frostline. by ? Fenner, ? Huber, ? Lindley and ? Simon.

Frosted Flakes Room 05/09/2000 A 35-foot diameter room with gypsum luster and flakes of gypsum crust. Surveyed by Rod Horrocks, Sam Russell, Erik Freeman, & Sandy Myers
Frostline
Spectacular examples of frostwork can be seen in this area. All the frostwork seems to have developed below a line which can clearly be seen in the rooms at either end, hence the name. Herb and Jan Conn and Dave Schnute.
Frostline Overpass 05/11/1991 A short upper-level passage that passes over the Frostline. Loose rock and a fissure in the floor that ties into the Frostline, prevent this route from being used. Steve Smith, Kevin Smith, & Jerry Hassmer
