Natural Bridge Room
A room where a natural bridge is formed between two pits. John Scheltens?
Natural Dump 01/23/1891 Alvin McDonald and Frank and Walter Stirling.
Natural Entrance
Refers to the entrance found in 1881 by Tom and Jesse Bingham. Tom and Jesse Bingham
Nave Junction 12/8/2000 A led to a low-ceilinged area with passages radiating off in all directions and multiple pits in the floor. This area was named Nave Junction by the explorers. Rod Horrock & Chris Ingrebretsen

Needle Nook 03/19/1987 A series of low rooms with false floors and millions of gypsum needles. Surveyed by Kevin Frasier, Greg and Jim Nepstad and Darren Ressler.
Needles Highway 03/11/1992 The NH (Needles Highway) survey. Max Manzur, Becky Ward, Wes Allen, & David Coles
Never Again Climb 04/10/1993 A difficult climb on the BHA survey. Max and Mike Mazur, and John Coyne
Never Goes 11/30/1988 A crawl that started underneath a false floor near the end of the Elephant Trunk and led to 700+ feet of cave. Jim had commented before they entered the crawl that false floors never go anywhere. Jim Nepstad, Darren Ressler, & Bill Rodgers
New Beginnings Room 06/11/1999 As the new cave specialist, Rod took on this area as his first project in Wind Cave, thus the name. The room had candle stubs and string probably dating from the Alvin McDonald era. Alan Howard began the survey into this room in 1962. Surveyed by Rod Horrocks and Quincy and Rosie Bahr.

New York Elevated R.R.

Newspaper Room 1890's Large amounts of old newspaper, left behind by the McDonalds or Stablers in the 1890s. Rediscovered in December of 1971 by Andy Flurkey and Chris Hill.
New Throne Room 06/25/1999 Room found off of the New Beginnings Room. Rob Richardson looked at the room on August 11, 1957 and left his name in the soft corrosion residue. Surveyed by Rod Horrocks, Derek Nelson, Bina Vanmali
Nice Hummers
Named because the huge boxwork fins hum when someone yelled.
Nice Ice 04/16/1993 A crystal encrusted pool. Bill Hawn, Bob Phillips, Steve Lester, Steve Smith, Jim Nepstad and Bob Kobza.
Nina's Cavern 03/20/1890 Alvin, Elmer and J.D. McDonald and George Stabler.
Noah's Beard
This large display of gypsum resembles an old man's beard. Alan Howard
Nobel Prize, The 05/06/1987 Large room off the Super Conductor (a discovery which will undoubtedly yield its discoverers a Nobel Prize). Jim Nepstad and Jim Pisarowicz
No Forgivness Pit 09/14/1996 A 20-foot pit. Hazel Barton, Evan Anderson, Jim Wilson, & Tim Moreland
Nook Room 02/23/1991 Bob Kobza, Jim Nepstad, Warren Netherton, & Mike Paulick
North Room 06/05/1885 The northern most room on the tour trails. This area was probably first entered before 1884, but this date is the earliest written record for the room. This room has also been called the Bridal Chamber because of a wedding held in this room. L.C. Faris, Frank Halden and Charlie Roe

Northwest Territory 10/26/1991 Large room (100' x 100' x 40' high) and passage area just northwest of Southern Comfort. Stan Allison, Paul Burger and Doug Kent
No Thru Streets 12/13/1980 So named because its passages do not lead to anywhere. John Scheltens, Dave Springhetti and Mike Wiles.
No Way Crawl 11/25/1987 A tight crawl with an elusive breeze but there is no way that a person could continue on in this passage. Discovered at the end of a very frustrating day of exploring. Shaun Larson and Jim Pisarowicz
Nuclear Winter Room 1987 A small room with a pit in the floor and calcite-covered floors.
Nudist Colony 07/26/1984 When Herb and Jan Conn found this large room in they were "as happy as two mosquitoes in a nudist colony".Herb and Jan Conn
Nursery
Discovered on September 29, 1893 by Alvin McDonald and John Stabler.
Nursery 1966, Surveyed 07/21/1979 The area was probably first entered by Herb & Jan Conn. Ed Pekin was also involved in surveying the area. Survey by John Scheltens and Dave Springhetti. A different area than the Nursery referred to above.
